STEAMPUNK Travels

I have always loved gears.... gears gears gears.... and their interaction, the brilliance of the brass... the power that they hold. It's as though those gears are the keepers of time, custodians of future secrets.

My latest project is Steampunk all the way. I have created a mini Time Machine with tiny little gears that my daughter (in her infinite wisdom) thought I would like for Christmas. I have laid them out, examining every tiny little piece... some of them with intricate etching... others very utilitarian... but none-the-less beautiful.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Steampunk here is the definition from Wikipedia:
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction, frequently featuring elements of fantasy, that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.

There is even a fashion industry catering to those who love to live and act out the Steampunk genre. I find it very romantic to 'time travel' via these instruments.

Thus... my Time Machine

Hope you enjoy the journey!
Best...

Wouldn't it be great to just disappear with this?

A gorgeous piece Canace. Simon and I love have been into steampunk for a while. There is an exhibition on at the moment, in Oxford that we are going to see soon, so I'll let you know all about it.
