Playing Favorites by Seth Apter

I'm proud to say that Seth Apter has included one of my pieces in his 'Playing Favorites' post today. This was based on a call to artists to: “share a picture of a favorite piece of art that you have created and explain its meaning to you”. My assemblage entitled "Eleventh Hour" is included today.
I hope you'll stop by Seth's blog The Altered Page and see all of the artists featured today. It's a great way to introduce yourself to other artists and gain an appreciation of their work.

Thank you Seth!

It's Sunday... sUnDaY... SUNDAY (echo please)

Yep, it's Sunday and today is the day that Seth Apter from The Altered Page has featured my  still life on his blog post "It's Still Life" along with some other fascinating and beautiful stills. He will feature a new collection next Sunday the 22nd. What a great way to get to know other artists! I hope you'll stop by Seth's blog to see my still life and have a tour of the other artists as well.
Seth is the author of "The Pulse of Mixed Media" and I'm happy to say he has two new and exciting  DVD workshops available too. Look on the sidebar of his blog to see video previews.

Happy Sunday!

Ellenville, NY Reception for Seth Apter - The Pulse of Mixed Media

Last Monday night was the opening reception for Seth at the Ellenville Gallery Link for his artwork as well as talk and book signing.

As promised, here are some pictures from the reception:
This first group is from Seth's 'Passages' series. I walked around the corner to see these and it took my breath away. The pictures (of course) don't do them justice. Each and every piece told a story and with the finesse and artful eye of Seth style.

There was good food and lots of good conversation. Everyone was very impressed with his work and doubly pleased to meet Seth in person.

Lots of good conversation

Everyone enjoying the exhibit... the press too!

Seth giving his talk about 'The Pulse of Mixed Media'

A book signing...
More conversation with internet friends..

And still more book signing..
And here are a few examples of Seth's series called 'Interior Angles'

You really have to see these in person to appreciate all the interesting texture and perfection of design. Rumor has it that Seth will be teaching this technique at Art Is You in Stamford Ct. this coming October. Sign up now... I'm sure his class will fill up quickly!

To hear all the latest on his book tour, podcasts etc. visit Seth's blog, The Altered Page.

Congratulations Seth!

Wow... my name in lights!

Okay, not just my name and not necessarily in lights but it's the next best thing.

Seth Apter of 'The Altered Page' is including me in tomorrow's post (February 25th) of 'Master Class' along with other artists who were asked the question:

'If you could take a class from one artist from anytime in history, including the present, who would it be and why?'

This has been a fun road to follow with all of the poignant questions as well as the opportunity to learn about other artists and their work. Thanks for the opportunity Seth!

I hope you'll pop on over to The Altered Page to view the post.

And don't forget that Seth's solo exhibition and book release reception is March 26th! The details are on his blog.
